When we renovated the house, we combined tradition with technology. We heat with organic pellets from regional producers, solar panels supply green electricity, and we take part in the Wilder Kaiser tourist board's “Green Arrival” programme.

Where is Haus Sonnwend located?
At Wochenbrunnweg 5, 6352 Ellmau, in a quiet spot on the sunny side of the village at the foot of the Wilder Kaiser. The village centre is 800 m away – about 10 minutes on foot or 2 minutes by car.
How many guests do the apartments sleep?
We have four fully equipped non-smoking apartments for 2–6 people. Double room no. 2 can be added to any apartment. Details, prices and availability are shown live in our booking system.
Are bed linen and towels included?
Yes, bed linen and towels are included in all apartments, as is free Wi-Fi.
Is the house suitable for families with children?
Yes. Babies stay free, and we provide a cot and high chair. The garden has a large play and sunbathing lawn with a giant trampoline, table tennis and basketball, plus a garden house for all guests.
How do I get to the ski area in winter?
Ellmau is part of the SkiWelt Wilder Kaiser – Brixental. The Hartkaiserbahn valley station is 2.4 km away; the free ski bus (line C2) stops at Wochenbrunnweg, only 10 m from the house. There is a ski room and boot dryer in the house.
How far is the bus stop?
The Wochenbrunnweg bus stop is only 10 m from the house. In winter the free ski bus (line C2) stops right there.
Is there parking and a charging station?
Yes: a covered, free parking space, an EV charging station (for a fee) and free charging for e-bikes.
Can I travel by train?
Of course. The nearest main station is Kufstein (22 km). Through the Wilder Kaiser tourist board's “Green Arrival” programme, rail travellers receive a bonus. Programme participants can use the free shuttle from Kufstein station to our house and back to Kufstein station for the return journey.
What does the Wilder Kaiser Guest Card include?
We provide the Guest Card to our guests at no charge. The Guest Card offers many free and discounted services in Ellmau, Going, Scheffau and Söll. Included are, among others, the public Postbus lines between Kufstein and St. Johann and between Wörgl and Kitzbühel, in summer the Kaiserjet, village evening bus and hiking buses, in winter ski buses and the Hintersteiner See bus. We email it to you a few days before arrival.
Until when can I cancel free of charge?
Cancellation is free of charge up to two months before the agreed day of arrival (instead of the three-month period of the AGBH 2006). The staggered fees are described in detail on the “Enquire & Book” page – further information on cancellation and booking terms.
How is the house rated?
We are awarded 4 Edelweiss by Alpine Gastgeber and rated 6 out of 6 on HolidayCheck and 5.0 out of 5 on Tripadvisor and Google.
When are check-in and check-out?
Check-in is possible from 3 pm. On the day of departure we kindly ask you to leave the apartment by 9:30 am. If you would like to arrive earlier on your arrival day, please ask us whether an earlier check-in is possible.
Are dogs allowed?
Unfortunately we cannot currently take any additional dogs, as we already have quite a few regular guests with dogs. Should this situation change, we will welcome new guests with dogs again – then smaller breeds only. The best way is to send us a short enquiry by email to urlaub@sonnwend.at before booking.
